A brutal mob enforcer talks with an old friend after spending fifty years of a life sentence being frozen in ice aboard a spaceship in orbit around the Earth. She wants to carry on a clean life continuing forward from the moment she was incarcerated, but she finds herself in a strange new world, and her son, who was born right before her sentence began, has grown old and become a mob boss himself. Frozen Phoenix is filled with catharsis and remembrance, and presents no clear winners in a very real yet futuristic situation.
